How much do you know about your subconscious mind? Or, let me rephrase it: do you know what your (our) subconscious mind is?

I used to think that our subconscious is this black box formed in our very early years (even from before birth), which we can only begin to try to understand. I now understand that it is something which we can easily see, experience, and yes, change.

How can I change my subconscious mind?

Let me explain, simply.

1. The subconscious is mostly built on memories.

2. Memories are tied to emotions — the stronger the emotion, the stronger the memory. Also, memories trigger emotions. That`s why you still feel angry, sad, hurt or happy when you remember something that someone did to (or for) you. …

“I have a dream”, Martin Luther King said in one of the most iconic speeches in the history of humankind. Yet, many people only know that one sentence out of the whole speech. Some know just the four words, and the general topic of the rest of the speech. It is because what made it so powerful that it is still mentioned today, is the dream.

But, what is a dream? What makes it so powerful? What can I do to harness it and soar?

This is what we will be discussing here, so join us to find out.

Dreams are so powerful because they are at the core of our being. In fact, the word “dream” does not do them justice. It is not a “fantasy”, it is much more than a “thought” or an “idea”. It is more of a “purpose”, something which is part of you. Lumière says it best in Disney`s Be Our…

Jesus preached (by word and example) a lot about love. Love for God and love for others. “Love your neighbour as yourself.” (Luke 10: 27b), He said. That is what love is. It may be easy to say you “do not hate” others, perhaps even to say that you “love” others; but to really love everyone? To treat others as you would treat yourself, or want others to treat you? To treat everyone as if they were those dearest to you? Some might even say “of course” to that. That is the way we should live, is it not?

It may be easy to say you “do not hate” others, perhaps even to say that you “love” others; but to really love everyone?

A couple of weeks ago 50 people were killed in Christchurch, New Zealand and countless others were injured.

Who killed these people? Was it the act of a solitary gunman?

It was not. If it were, it would not be so difficult to put a stop to this. This was the work of many more people. This was the act of gunmen and their leaders. This was the act of governments and other leaders. …

One of the most common questions I get asked when meeting new people is “What do you do?” You know the expected answer to that question, don´t you? It could well have been phrased differently as in “What is your job?”

Research has shown time and time again that words are very important because they also shape reality. This is why I think that in most cases this is the wrong question to ask. It implies that the most important thing about you is your job. That you are your job. It implies that if you are currently unemployed you are worthless. …

I feel that fresh air from open windows (especially in the early morning) and fresh flowers bring a positive energy into the house and all those who come in contact with it.

Some months ago we moved to a new house which has a small garden with it. I am no gardener and my fingers aren´t green at all I´m afraid, but still, it was full of promise. A couple of trees, some herbs and flowers. Oh, and the visiting birds who make the atmosphere so much brighter with their cheerful chirping.

Now that we have this garden with flowers growing in it throughout the year, I long for fresh flowers even more. This is why I’ve been looking for a beautiful glass vase for the flowers practically from the first day that we moved in. …

It seems that the magic is working. From that one view from my own laptop two months ago, things have inexplicably grown without the benefit of a social circle from my offline life to help it grow. Last month I had 995 views on my Wordpress blog. This month I have as many and we´re only halfway through. More importantly, I am enjoying every single moment of it. But all of a sudden, this.

I am doubting. Not whether I can make it or not, because I see it more as a journey than as anything else. So, no matter the end result, as long as it is a journey of growth it is worth it, it is a success. I am learning. I am stretching my comfort zone. I have met new people, some of whom I would consider as friends. I have successfully tried things which I have always wanted to do but was “afraid” of trying, afraid of failing. So it is great. It is already a success, sort of, or depending on your definition of it. …

Hi. This year I am going to go out of my comfort zone and share my thoughts, insights and perhaps some reviews or something I have learnt. But the biggest step out of my comfort zone will be today because I will start sharing with you my journey towards one of my main 2019 goals. I was not going to set any new year resolutions, but a question from my wife got me thinking. I have been wanting to reach this particular goal but I never really got going. So why not try it again… seriously this time. While taking action on my goal today I thought “Why not share it with anyone who is interested? Turning my thoughts into words on a paper helps me, so why not turn them into words to be shared online?” They might help someone else too. But what is this goal? …
